Marietta E. Lichtenberg

Marietta E. Lichtenberg, 94, of Moses Lake passed away on Friday, April 6, 2007, at Sand Ridge Home Care in Moses Lake.

She was bom on March 22,1913, in Van Tassel, Wyo. to Ira and Rachel Bushnell. She skipped several grades and at 16 graduated from high school in Fall River Mills, Calif.

She married her first husband, Paul Pierson, in 1933. They moved to Ephrata from Bremerton in 1945 and together ran a machine shop until moving to Coulee Darn in the early 60s. They had three children, Beverly Robinson, Gary and Scott Pierson. Scott died suddenly in an industrial accident in 1984. She was married to Paul for almost forty years until he passed away in 1973. She then moved back to Ephrata.

She married Lyle Richmond in 1977 and after five years of marriage he died in 1983.

They enjoyed camping and dancing at the Ephrata Senior Center.

In 1984 she met Joseph Lichtenberg while dancing at the Senior Center. They were married in 1986. They lived in Soap Lake and were active in the Soap Lake and Ephrata Senior Centers and members of the United Methodist Church in Ephrata. They moved from Soap Lake in 2001 to assisted living at the Monroe House in Moses Lake. They were married 18 years until his death in 2004. Marietta enjoyed the activities at the Monroe House with her many friends until a recent illness in February 2007.

Marietta loved dancing, poetry, playing cards and games, crafts and travel. She will be missed by many for her sense of humor, generosity and devotion to friends and family.

Marietta is survived by her daughter, Beverly and husband Jim Robinson of Lakewood, son, Gary and wife Linda Pierson of Ephrata, a sister, Eva and husband Ray Perkins of Redding, Calif., seven grandchildren; Randy Robinson, Daryl Robinson, Kim Robinson, Tanya Pierson, Eric Pierson, April Brant, and Jessica Hamilton, three great-grandchildren, a niece, two nephews and wonderful friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Clark Bushnell, a sister, Leone Burger, a son, Scott Pierson, and three husbands, Paul Pierson, Lyle Richmond, and Joe Lichtenberg.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2007, at the United Methodist Church in Ephrata. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
