Quincy woman Entrepreneur of the Year

WENATCHEE — A Grant County native was named this year's top entrepreneur.

The Greater Wenatchee Area Technology Alliance named Valda Sarty, CEO of Sarty Mountain, Inc., as the 2007 Entrepreneur of the Year.

The award was announced at the alliance's 2007 Innovative Awards luncheon Tuesday.

Sarty, a 20-year resident of Moses Lake currently residing in Quincy, is the owner and founder of Sarty Mountain, Inc., which encompasses a variety of salon and spa locations including Elements Salon and Wellness Spa, Refuel Spa and Elements University.

"This award is a tremendous honor," Sarty said in a statement. "To be recognized by this group and among peers whom I have a tremendous amount of respect for is amazing. We place such a high importance on innovation and ensuring that our operations are as sound as possible. It is a wonderful feeling to be recognized for our efforts."
