Greydon LeeRoy Hemingway

Greydon L. Hemingway passed away April 5, 2007, in Chewelah, Wash., at the age of 90. Greydon was born on May 6, 1916, in Chadron, Neb. He was the son of Roy and Amelia (Whetlauffer) Hemingway. He was raised and attended school in Chadron and attended Coyne Electrical School in Chicago. Before the start of WW II, he worked at the naval shipyards in Bremerton, Wash. He married Fern Hardy in Alliance, Neb., and they made their home in Bremerton. At the end of the war they moved to Moses Lake and Greydon worked as a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, working on Grand Coulee Dam and many of the other Columbia River dams. He retired in 1981. In 1997 Fern, his wife of over 56 years passed away. Greydon moved to Chewelah in 2002. He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing and hunting as a pastime.

Greydon is survived by:

One son: Gary Hemingway and his wife, Carol, Loon Lake, Wash.

Granddaughters: Lara Hemingway, Spokane; Ixtla Vaughan, Bozeman, Mont.

Grandson: Dylan Vaughan, Livingston, Mont.

Two great-grandchildren: Tuk Vaughan-Kraska and Finn Vaughan-Kraska

And beloved nieces and their families in Nebraska.

Funeral services for Greydon Hemingway will be held in Chadron, Neb. Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Colville, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
