Notice of Application and Public Hearing

Safeway, INC., submitted an application for a Site Plan Review on September 11, 2006. The application was determined to be complete and ready for review on September 26, 2006. The proposal is to construct a new 3,653 sq. ft. fueling canopy with 6 double sided fuel dispensers, a new 432 sq. ft. sales kiosk, and a 1,300 sq. ft. carwash building with (2) 500 gallon wastewater reclamation tanks. Three 20,000 gallon underground fuel storage tanks will be installed each with complete tank sumps containing fills and stage 2 vapor recovery systems. Prior to construction the Pioneer Muffler Building and Godfather's Pizza Building will be demolished. The site is located at 517 S. Pioneer Way, in the C-2, General Commercial and Business Zone. The project will require environmental review. The project has been determined to be Consistent with the City's Comprehensive Plan, and the following Development Regulations are applicable to the project: Moses Lake Municipal Code Title 18 Zoning, Title 14 Environmental Regulations, Title 16 Buildings and Construction, and Title 20 Development Review Process.

Written comments on this proposal will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on October 16, 2006 Public comment may be provided up to the date of the public hearing which is scheduled for November 16, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers located at 401 Balsam Street. In addition, persons who want to be informed of future actions or the final decision on this proposal should provide their name and address to the project planner. The final decision on this proposal will be made within 120 days of the date of the notice of completion and may be appealed according to the City appeal provisions specified in Chapt. 20.11, Appeals.
