Mose J. Gagnier

Mose J. Gagnier, 84, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2006 at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 27, at the Grape Drive Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop John Wright, son-in-law conducting. Interment with military honors will immediately follow in Pioneer Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel and Crematory, Moses Lake.

Viewing will take place at the church on Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., prior to the memorial service.

Moe was born April 7, 1922 in Elgin, Ore., first son of the late Mose and Cora Gagnier. The family later moved to Butte, Mont., where he met his lifelong sweetheart, Vera "Faye" Jardine. They were married in Tacoma, Wash., on Jan. 11, 1943. They moved to Moses Lake in 1954 where they have since resided.

Moe served his country during World War II and saw action at Normandy and the Rhineland. He received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army in 1945.

Our dad enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, bowling, dancing with mom, and watching boxing on television and in person with his sons.

He was a member of the Second Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Moe was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Faye.

He is survived by his three children and their spouses, Lexie and John Wright of Moses Lake, Rick and Myra Gagnier and Ladd and Holly Gagnier both of Yakima; 12 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
