Lucy Fay Christensen

Lucy Fay Christensen, 101, longtime Royal City resident, passed away Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006 at LakeRidge Special Care Center in Moses Lake. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Royal Camp with Bishop David Gilbert conducting. Interment will follow in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Ellensburg. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel and Crematory, Moses Lake.

The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.

Lucy Fay Christensen was born in Shelley, Idaho, Feb. 3, 1905 to William Clark Wilson and Augusta Ermina Bates. Her growing up years were spent in Shelley, Idaho. She married LeRoy Christensen July 1, 1926 in the Salt Lake Temple. They moved to the Kittitas Valley in 1933 where Roy farmed. Roy preceded her in death passing away Oct. 3, 1948. She moved to the Royal Slope in the Columbia Basin in 1958, residing there until her death. Her son Dee passed away Nov. 15, 1966.

Survivors are Jay (Erma) of Royal City, Joyce (William) Wright of Yakima, Ted (Jean) of Royal City and Robert (Joanne) of Mattawa. She has 23 grandchildren, 95 great grandchildren and 41 great-great grandchildren.

The family extends special thanks to her caregiver, Vicki Hickman, and the staff at the LakeRidge Care Center in Moses Lake.
