George Jeffries
George Jeffries, 54, Warden resident, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006 at his home in Warden.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 22, at Kayser's Chapel of Memories with Bishop Glenn Perrins of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Moses Lake 10th Ward, officiating.
George was the fifth of six children born to Walter Biven Jeffries and Afton Montague on May 29, 1952 in Sterling, Ill.
George attended school in Rock Falls, Ill., and moved to Moses Lake in 1966 where he later graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1970.
After high school, George lived in Illinois, Kentucky, Oregon, and Alaska and finally came back home to Washington to settle in Warden.
George was a hard worker and began working with potatoes as soon as he was old enough to do so. He began his career in the potato processing business at Carnation while still in high school. He then became a supervisor at McCain Foods Inc. for twelve years and later worked as a supervisor for Basin Foods in Warden.
George had a passion for motorcycles ever since he was a young boy and loved nothing more than spending time riding his Harley-Davidson. He had a great sense of humor and always had a story to tell.
George is preceded in death by his father; his brother Donny Jeffries; and his sister Lois Bushman.
George is survived by his mother Afton Jeffries; two brothers Walt and Kenny Jeffries; a sister Eva Moffet; step-children Amy and David Kister; four step- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory, Moses Lake.
