Mary Sheneman

Longtime Moses Lake resident Mary Sheneman, 84, passed away Sept. 10, 2006 at Lake Ridge Care Center. The family wishes to thank the staff at Lake Ridge for the excellent, loving care they gave her.

Mary was the third and youngest child of William and Irene Mead. She was born in Everett, Jan. 31, 1922. It was there that she grew up and graduated from Everett High School. She married Emerson Oman in 1941. Mary, Emerson and their four children moved to Moses Lake in 1953. She was the secretary at Chief Moses Junior High School in the late 1950s and then was Ken Earl's legal secretary for 21 years. She was a member of the Moses Lake Women's Club in her later years. On Jan. 14, 1980, she married Harold Sheneman.

Gardening, quilting, sewing, embroidery, crocheting and playing card games were Mary's hobbies. She loved her family and many friends, and always served homemade baked goods to her visitors.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands, sister Eva Dennis, grandson Glen Lybbert, granddaughter Angela Pope and son-in-law Larry Pope. She is survived by her four children, Sandra (Russ) Bevan, Carlene (Glade) Lybbert, Bill (Tita) Oman and Kent Oman, her 17 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Viewing will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Kayser's Chapel. The funeral will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 1515 S. Division St.
