Ila W. (Blackbourn) Smith
Ila W. (Blackbourn) Smith passed away Oct. 25, 2006 at her home in Soap Lake.
Ila was born to Carol and Lorraine Brown in Menard, Texas, on Feb. 18, 1930. Ila has been a Soap Lake resident since the late 1950s. She raised her three children there and worked for the Home Bakery of Soap Lake and then Ephrata from the mid-1960s until the early 1980s. She then became a care giver until her retirement in 1995.
Ila is survived by three brothers, Eltin, Royce and Wilton, all of Texas; two sisters, Alta and Anita, also of Texas; her children, Floyd L. (Silva) Blackbourn of Spokane, Joyce Manning of Soap Lake, Rex Manning of Moses Lake and Cynthia (Ken) Calentine; grandchildren Allen Blackbourn, Nathan Manning and Sara Thomson and three great great grandchildren.
Ila was preceded in death by her parents, two siblings and her husband, Paul E. Smith.
Graveside services will be held Monday, Oct. 30, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Valley View Memorial Park in Soap Lake, with a gathering to be announced at the graveside service.
Nicoles Funeral Home in Ephrata is in charge of arrangements.
