Moses Lake home burns

No injuries

MOSES LAKE — A fire tore through a rental home in Moses Lake Monday night.

The fire began at approximately 9:30 p.m., Deputy Chief Corbin Moberg said. Approximately 20 firefighters from the Moses Lake Fire Department responded to the fire at the home located on Peninsula Drive.

"Everyone was out of the home when it started," Mobergt said. "It was controlled within about 30 minutes."

The family of five who lived in the house arrived at the burning home, not knowing about the fire, witness Joel Goplin said.

The department was forced to take a defensive attack on the fire.

A portion of the roof was caved in, Moberg said. The firefighters could not be sent inside to control the fire because it was too dangerous.

There were no injures and no other buildings were damaged by the fire.

The house is a total loss, he said.

The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation.
