Peggy Conklin Meighan

Peggy Conklin Meighan, 57, died in her sleep on Sept. 4, 2006 in her Tacoma home.

Peggy was born on Dec. 21, 1948 in Polson, Mont., to Dr. and Mrs. K.P. Conklin. She moved to Moses Lake at the age of three with her father, stepmother Marguerite T. Conklin, sister Clemence and brother Patrick. In 1967, she was named Miss Moses Lake and she went on to be first runner-up in the Miss Washington Pageant. She graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1967 and attended the University of Washington.

Peggy will always be remembered for her sincere kindness, love and caring for others. She was a very special lady to all who knew her.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Clemence and Wayne Perslin of Vancouver, Wash.; her sons who were the pride and joy of her life, Patrick Meighan and wife Amy of Los Angeles, Calif.; Peter Meighan and wife Starla of Pullman, Wash.; three grandchildren whom she loved dearly - Kaitlyn, Nathan and Ada; and her very special friend and partner for 18 years, Cran Wilkie of Tacoma.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Karl P. Conklin; her mother, Helen Dunlap; stepmother, Marguerite T. Conklin; and brothers Patrick, K.P., and Michael Conklin.
