Keith William Sherman

Keith William Sherman, 69, longtime Moses Lake resident passed away Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006 at his home in Moses Lake following a courageous battle with cancer. At the time of his death, he was surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center in Moses Lake with Bishop Glenn Perrins of the Moses Lake 10th Ward conducting. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Warden.

Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel and Crematory, Moses Lake.

Viewing will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, Oct. 11, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon. The family will greet friends at the church on Thursday from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.

Keith was born July 19, 1937 in Cheyenne, Wyo., to William Harold and Joye Louise (Mohler) Sherman. He married his young wife, Shelly, in 1960. The couple had just celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary in June.

Keith retired from the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1989.

He was a true cowboy from his early boyhood. He enjoyed rodeo, fishing, camping, and spending time with his grandsons.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Shelly; his daughter Faith (Bill) Howells; his son, Keith "Kit" Sherman, II; his sister, Hallie Joye (Gaylen) Reese; three grandsons, B.J. Moore, Cory Moore and Eric Noland; and two great-grandsons, Andy and Derek Moore.
