Mulliken failed to yield from a stop sign

MOSES LAKE — Rep. Sen. Joyce E. Mulliken was cited for failing to yield from a stop sign in Moses Lake Thursday morning, according to the Grant County Sheriff's Office.

Mulliken's 2004 Ford Explorer was reportedly struck by a 1997 Honda Civic driven by a 19-year-old from Moses Lake at the intersection of Bolling Street northeast and College Parkway, deputies reported.

Mulliken reportedly stopped at the stop sign on Bolling Street northeast. When she pulled away from the stop sign, she was allegedly struck by the 19-year-old who was southbound on College Parkway, the sheriff's office reported. The 19-year-old was not required to stop.

Mulliken's vehicle was reportedly driven from the scene after the citation while the Honda Civic had to be towed. There were no injuries and both drivers were wearing their seat belts, the sheriff's office reported.
