'Huge deal' for 2-year-old D&M Enterprizes

MOSES LAKE — Anyone in the Moses Pointe parking lot got to see an interesting sight Wednesday morning.

Seventy-two new golf carts were lined up to go through a process preparing them for service at the course.

"That's a huge deal," said E-Z-Go golf cart dealer Dale Kingma, of Moses Lake-based D&M Enterprizes with his wife Mary. "That's a big sale."

Typically, a golf course will lease its carts for three to four years and trade them in, starting a new lease.

"Moses Pointe kept these for six years," he said. "So they were in dire need of trading them in."

The business sells new and used carts, parts and services all makes and models of golf carts. It began two years ago, when the course asked Kingma to begin maintaining their carts.

"When I started doing that, I thought I should just become an EZ-Go dealer and pursued it that way," he said. "Business has been fairly good."

"It's been very exciteful," Mary said of the business. "We were kind of overwhelmed at times, but it's been a lot of fun."

Both avid golfers, Mary loves to meet the business' customers, while Dale prefers selling.

"Selling and seeing the expression on people's face when they get a new golf cart," he said.
