Genevieve Thoren Pittser
Genevieve Thoren Pittser passed away at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee on Sept. 24, 2006 at the age of 90. She was born in Chinook, Alberta, Canada on Aug. 9, 1916, to Albin and Josephine Thoren.
Jennie attended school in Mansfield and graduated in 1935. She married Clifford Pittser in Almira on June 27, 1937. They farmed in Coulee City for nearly 30 years. In 1964, they moved to East Wenatchee where she started Rocking P Ceramic Shop and instructed classes for 39 years. She gave many children a second chance for a happy, successful life. She loved participating in craft shows throughout the Central Washington area and had a zest for life. Jennie was grandmother to many and will be missed by everyone.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford, of 63 years, her mother and father, three brothers and one sister, one grandson and one granddaughter. She is survived by Donald Thoren; her sisters, Francis Culver, Teddy and her husband Rex Hainline ; her sons, Grant and his wife Joanne Pittser; Gene and his wife Arna Pittser, her daughter, Wanda and her husband Carl Brunette; 12 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and numerous ceramic patrons and friends.
Services will be held Oct. 6, 2006 at Ephrata First Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with graveside services to follow at Valley View Memorial Cemetery in Soap Lake. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to American Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
