Robert D. Arndt

Robert D. Arndt, 62, of Spirit Lake, Idaho, passed away in Blanchard, Idaho, on Nov. 26, 2006, due to heart complications while hunting deer.

Robert was born Nov. 6, 1944, the son of Edgar and Sarah (Wright) Arndt in Portland, Ore. Robert grew up in and graduated from Moses Lake High School. After graduating Robert joined the U.S. Army, serving for three years in Germany as a medic. While growing up in Moses Lake, he enjoyed spending time in the sand dunes with his friends. He later moved to Seattle and then to the Monroe area.

He did numerous jobs in his life including being an owner of a tavern. He was also a sales associate for many stores and worked for the State of Washington in the liquor stores. Robert moved to Spirit Lake, Idaho, three years ago.

He was a true outdoorsman. He loved hunting for deer and elk and also fishing. Robert was a huge University of Washington Huskies fan and he also loved watching the Seattle Mariners and Seahawks. He was also known to play a little golf. His greatest love was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his children Tami (and Scott) Saeda of Federal Way, Randi ( and Eric) Vangemert of Spirit Lake, Idaho, Sarah Cassell of Sultan, Rebecca ( and Josh) Arndt of Everett, Casey (and Jen) Arndt of Sultan, and Zachery Arndt of Sultan; the mothers of his children Gaby Arndt and Annie Arndt, and special family members, Mary, Travis, and Nicole. Survivors also include his grandchildren Corey, Molly Kate, Michael, Brandyn, Joey, Matthew, Lucas, Jacob, Hannah, and Gage.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home and Crematory in Priest River, Idaho is in charge of arrangements. Family and friends are welcome to sign the online guest book at sherman-knapp.com
