Gerald Francis Voss

Portland, Ore., resident Gerald Francis Voss passed away at home Nov. 15, 2006. A funeral mass for Gerald will be held Saturday, Dec. 2, 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Moses Lake.

Gerald was born on May 31, 1922 in Spokane, to parents George and Evelyn Voss. Gerald attended North Central High School in Spokane. Shortly after he joined the U.S. Marine Corp and served from 1937 until 1945. He was in the reserves from 1945 until 1958. He worked for Pacific Northwest Bell for 35 years before retiring in 1982 to Moses Lake.

He married Elizabeth Jaeger in August 1977. Gerald was active in the Elks Lodge (Moses Lake chapter), VFW, and Pioneers of America. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and traveling. He and his wife Elizabeth traveled to Guam, Russia, New Zealand, Australia and Central America.

His family wishes to thank Monroe House in Moses Lake for their care and special thanks to the caregivers and staff at Summerplace Assisted Living and Expressions of Portland, Ore. Their love and support is greatly appreciated.

Gerald was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth and is survived by daughters Pam Propst of Fullerton, Calif., Pat Miller of Spokane; son Dick Nelson of Spokane; step-sons "Tom" Thomas of Gresham, Ore., "Jim" Thomas of Seattle, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. His, brother Robert also preceded him in death.
