Oscar Grable, Jr. ,84, went to be with the Lord Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, with his family nearby. Funeral services will not be held upon Oscar's request. However, family and friends will celebrate a great life lived in the spring of 2007 with a private graveside service in Ephrata.

Oscar was born Feb. 2, 1922, in Manhattan, Kan., to the late Oscar, Sr. and Sarah Grable.

As a young man he served in the U.S. Navy and later became an electrician. He was part of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 57 years and worked on many dams on the Columbia River and others. As a 22-year resident of Moses Lake he enjoyed visiting with his friends at the American Legion and Danny's tavern.

Oscar is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Judy; four daughters, Carolyn McConnell, Mary Graddy, Ann Rose all of Washington and Freda Lowe of Glendale, Ariz.; and a son, James Grable of Safety Harbor, Fla. Although Oscar had three generations of grandchildren whom he loved very much, he especially enjoyed spending time with Jazzmen and Sjuana who helped keep a smile on his face during his last days.

Oscar was preceded in death by his youngest son Charles Grable.

Oscar had many friends and family who will miss him deeply.

The family appreciates the support and kindness of all who have helped during this difficult time.

Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory, Moses Lake.
