John Earl Cadle
John Earl Cadle, 87, longtime southern Calif. and recent Moses Lake resident, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at his residence in Moses Lake, surrounded by his family. The funeral services, officiated by the Reverend Steve Rice, will be held at 2 p.m. today at the United Methodist Church in Moses Lake. Military flag presentation will be held at the interment immediately following at the Ephrata cemetery. The viewing will take place at Kayser's Chapel of Memories on today from 8 a.m. until noon. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory, Moses Lake.
John was born August 18, 1918 in Grassy Meadows, W. Va. to the late Everett Elijah Cadle and Mae Cooper Cadle. He was one of seven children who were raised on the family farm in West Virginia. He served proudly in the 20th Army Air Corps during World War II in the China Burma India Theatre for the duration of the war. He married his longtime sweetheart Gloria Lee Ford from neighboring Rupert, W. Va. They had two children, Michael Dale and Diana Lynn Cadle. For many years, John worked in the coal mines of W Va. before health issues forced a move to the high desert of Calif. where he gained long-term employment with the Department of Defense Civil Service branch, working at numerous military installations along the west coast. He proudly retired in 1983 after 33 combined years of federal service.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years Gloria Lee, daughter Diana and son-in-law Don Williams, granddaughter Michele and husband Tom Cram, grandson Don and wife Holly Williams II, five great-grandchildren Katrina Cram, Courtney Cram, Kassandra Cram and Matlyn Williams and Mason Williams. John was also survived by his brother Ray and his wife Loretta Cadle, sister Myrtle and her husband Champe Mitchell, brother Homer and wife Vena and sister Estee Hutsenpiller.
John was preceded in death by his son Michael, parents, Everett and Mae Cadle, and brother James and sister Thelma.
