Warden team takes first at robotics challenge
Soap Lake team earns second place
MOSES LAKE — On Saturday, middle school students from throughout the Basin participated in the first annual Central Washington Lego Robotic Challenge at Big Bend Community College.
The event was sponsored by the 21st Century Community Learning Centers, First Lego League International and the Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Program.
Students presented missions their teams completed using robots designed, built and programed by students to complete those missions.
This year's challenge was called "Ocean Odyssey."
The Ocean Savers team from Warden Middle School took first place, followed by Cinco Mosqueteros with second place from Soap Lake Middle School and team CS 3 J's from WMS taking the Sportsmanship Award. All participants were rewarded with a FIRST Lego League medallion and Ocean Odyssey T-shirt.
