Yahoo! is seeking coverage under the Washington Department of Ecology's NPDES General Permit for Stormwater Discharges Associated with Construction Activities.

The proposed +/-50 acre project, known as Yahoo! Data Center is located NE of the "P" NW and Industrial Parkway Intersection in Quincy, WA. Approximately 50 acres will be disturbed for construction of: clearing & grubbing, demolition, grading, subgrade preparation, surfacing, hot mix asphalt, cement concrete curb/gutter/sidewalk, catch basins, storm drain pipe, water pipe, sewer pipe, sewer manholes, power, telephone, cable, landscaping, and buildings.

The proposed temporary stormwater drainage system during construction activity will generally consist of: Best Management Practices (BMP's) including stake & wire fence, swales with check dams, silt fence, stabilized construction entrance, sediment traps, plastic covering, storm drain inlet protection, and dust control, for on site treatment of 100% of the water quality storm event.

Construction storm water, in excess of the water quality storm event, will discharge to the Grant County, Port District No.1 storm drainage system, which infiltrates stormwater in an open basin +/-1/2 mile SE of the project.

Any person desiring to present their views to the Department of Ecology concerning this application may notify Ecology in writing within 30 days of the last date of publication of this notice.
