Kenneth Ronald "Kenny" Hinds
Moses Lake resident Kenneth Ronald "Kenny" Hinds, age 69, entered his "Final Frame" for his last three strikes on Wednesday, March 23, 2006 at Samaritan Healthcare.
Kenny was born Oct. 22, 1936 in Johnson City, N.Y. to Ronald and Elma Hinds and grew up in Binghamton, N.Y. where he resided till he entered the Marine Corps. where he served for three years as a Private First Class.
After returning from the Marine Corps, Kenny met and married the love of his life, June Ann Turbarge of Torrington Conn. in Binghamton, N.Y. on Dec. 1, 1956 where they lived for a few years before relocating to Winchester, Conn. where Kenny built their home himself and they raised their boys. While living in Winchester, Kenny worked for O & G Construction of Torrington, Conn. and General Motors in Bristol, Conn. before moving to Phoenix, Ariz. in 1984 till 1987 when they moved to Othello before eventually settling in Moses Lake.
Kenny was a career bowler who started out at age 16 as a PinSetter in Binghamton N.Y. He joined the Professional Bowlers Association in 1960 and was very active in it up until 1993. He continued with his league bowling to the end of his life. He will be missed by his family and many friends that he has made over the years and through his numerous travels across the country with the PBA.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife, June Ann of Moses Lake Wa.; son Kenneth R. Hinds Jr. of Florida, granddaughter Ronnelle Ann; son, Keith Edward Hinds and wife Nancy of Moses Lake; granddaughters Dannielle Marie and Kimberly Rose also of Moses Lake; son Kris Robert Hinds and partner Scott Thomas Hostetter of Othello; sister Shirley Wyatt of Othello; sister Donna Santasero of Binghamton, N.Y. and brother Harold Hinds of Houston, Texas, and his numerous nieces and nephews. His beloved son, Kyle Rian Hinds; parents Ronald and Elma Hinds and sister Barbara Lewis preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 1 at the First Baptist Church in Othello Wa. at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Bob Plunkett officiating.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the medical and nursing staff of Samaritan Healthcare and the Moses Lake Clinic for providing excellent care of Kenny.
