Holmquist to talk boifuel
MOSES LAKE — Rep. Janea Holmquist will address the Big Bend Economic Development council at its monthly meeting Wednesday at noon.
"Holmquist has been the leader in the state on biofuel issues, and this industry has the potential to create jobs in small communities across the Columbia Basin," BBEDC executive director Bill Riley said in a press release. "The completion of the second half of the Basin Project could bring on line 600,000 irrigated acres that could grow corn, soybeans, canola, safflower and other seed oils, and play a major role in producing biofuels, thus assuring energy independence."
Holmquist will respond to questions after her presentation. The meeting is open to the public. The BBEDC will meet at the Moses Lake Boys and Girls Club, at 410 W. Third Ave.
