Moses Lake High School student Jess Cope, pictured above left, checks out a shot on video to show eighth-graders Christian Mabry and Emily Shuler about video and film making. Cope is a student in the high school's BNC-TV film making program. The presentation was one segment of a career showcase put on by the University of Washington and Central Washington University GEAR UP programs in the Columbia Basin. More than 600 eighth-graders from Grant and Adams counties converged on Big Bend Community College Thursday to learn about and plan for future careers. At right, Cope maneuvers a shot on video for Othello eighth-grader Billy Duke.
