Hazle Davis Gleed

Hazle Davis Gleed, 87, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away Wed., March 22 in Moses Lake. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 27 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Moses Lake Stake Center on Division Street. Viewing will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, March 25th and on Monday, March 27th from 8 a.m. until noon and at the church on Monday, March 27th from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Interment will follow at Pioneer Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel and Crematory.

Born in Basalt, Idaho in 1918 to Samuel and May Davis, she was the youngest of nine children. The family moved to Hammett, Idaho when Hazle was 13. While visiting in Basalt she met Robert Lyle Gleed, her future husband. They married in Shelly, Idaho in August of 1936.

They were blessed with 5 children, Dorothy, Betty, Robert, Rodney and Hazle Belle. She moved to the Moses Lake area in 1961 to be closer to her family. She entered a nursing home in 1988 where she resided until her death.

She spoke fondly of friends, family, births, sturgeon fishing and her 75th birthday.

She was survived by 3 children; Dorothy Gleed of Royal City, Wash., Robert Gleed of Redding, Calf. and Rodney Gleed of Kettle Falls, Wash; 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Betty Campbell of Moses Lake and Hazle Alston of Moses Lake.
