Mary Agnes Maxwell Cornelsen
Mary Agnes Maxwell Cornelsen, longtime Moses Lake resident passed away March 15, 2006 in Brush Prairie, where she was residing at Wisteria Gardens.
Born March 3, 1923, Richfield, Idaho. Her parents were Eugene Maxwell and Ethel Agnes Potter.
Mary grew up living and working on farms most of her life. She met her Husband, Rueben Abraham Cornelsen in school. He was called into the service during the war and she went to Grass Valley, Calif. to be near him. They were married Feb. 27, 1943. Their marriage was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple June 1, 1944.
Rueben and Mary moved to the Columbia Basin in 1955. They farmed a unit on Royal Slope for 13 years. In 1968, they moved to Moses Lake.
Mary was active in Moses Lake 3rd Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all the years they lived in Moses Lake. She served in many positions in the church including four missions.
She is survived by her husband, Rueben (who is currently at LakeRidge) in Moses Lake; sons, Raymond and Shauna Cornelsen, Riverton, Utah; Gordon and Roma Cornelsen, Warden, Dee and Darla Cornelsen, Moses Lake; Kevin and Jolyn Cornelsen, Brush Prairie; one daughter, Dawna Cornelsen, Bothell; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and four on the way. Sisters-in-law, Leona Ballinger, Glendale, Ariz.; Zelda Penner, Ogden, Utah; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 24, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Nelson Road Chapel, with Bishop Frank Brunell of the Moses Lake 3rd Ward, conducting. Interment will follow in Pioneer Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel of Memories, Moses Lake.
Viewing will take place at the funeral home on Friday morning from 8 a.m. to noon.
The family will greet friends at the church on Friday from 1 to 1:45 p.m.
