Juanita De Jesus Lopez

Juanita De Jesus Lopez, 50, longtime Connell resident, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2006 at University of Washington Hospital in Seattle. Viewing will take place at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Holy Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 8 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 9 at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Warden with Father Richard Poole and Father Alejandro Trejo as celebrants. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Warden.

Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory, Moses Lake.

Juanita was born Dec. 25, 1955 in Crystal City, Texas. She was raised & educated in Warden graduating from Warden High School in 1974. In 1977 she graduated from Columbia Basin Community College and immediately took employment at Lamb Weston where she worked for nearly 30 years.

Juanita was an active member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Connell, where she worked with youth groups and held positions such as secretary and treasurer on the parish council. She was also active with the Cursillo Movement.

She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children.

She is survived by her husband, Raul Farias of Connell; two children, Elvira and Raul; uncles, Robert and Petra Reyes, Angel Reyes and Juan Reyes; numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren and special extended family, Frank and Maggie Sanchez and their family; her father, Maciel of Edingburg, Texas; her siblings, Maciel, Aida and Diana also of Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elvira and Francisco Trujillo and her grandparents, Rosendo and Enrigueta Reyes.
