Lydia Knecht

Lydia Knecht, 95, lifelong Moses Lake resident, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at Summerwood Alzheimer's Care Center in Moses Lake.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 3 at Kayser's Chapel of Memories with Pastor Eric Frey of the Moses Lake First Presbyterian Church officiating.

Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Warden.

Following the graveside committal service the family will greet friends at a reception at the Moses Lake First Presbyterian Church.

Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory.

Lydia was born May 22, 1910 in the Wheeler area at the family homestead to Fred & Kathrine (Reiner) Schmauder.

She is survived by her daughters, Evelyn Hardy and Linda (Brent) Bishop; her sister Kay Giese; grandchildren, Sandy (Skip) Allred, Julianne Sullivan, Wendy Gilbert, Patrick (Kamie) Bishop, Heidi (Brian) Bishop Collins; great-grandchildren, Jordan & Tanner Bishop, Courtney & Kaitlyn Collins, Brandy (Clayton) Parker, Stephanie Reitz, Crystal Sullivan, Heather (Jason) Abregana, Brandon & Hailey Gilbert; great-great-grandchildren, Corbin Reitz, MacKenzie & Jarad Parker, Benjamin & Allison Abregana; and special friends, Lee, Carol, John, Daniel, Lance and Leanne Seitz.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Knecht; her parents, Fred & Kathrine; her brothers, Fred, Ed and John Schmauder, along with her twin brother, Robert Schmauder; and her sister, Anna Giese.

The family suggests memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church Scholarship Fund, 1142 W. Ivy Ave., Moses Lake, WA 98837.
