EPHRATA (AP) — The sentencing for Evan Savoie that had been scheduled for Tuesday in Ephrata was rescheduled for July 10.
Savoie was convicted of first-degree murder in April for beating and stabbing a 13-year-old boy to death three years ago in Ephrata.
Savoie was 12 years old at the time, making him one of the youngest murder defendants in Washington to be tried as an adult. He faces more than 20 years in prison when he is sentenced.
Another boy, Jake Eakin, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder by complicity and testified against Savoie during the trial. He is serving a 14-year sentence.
