Everett Norman Michel

Everett Norman Michel was born on Oct. 30, 1921 in Lind to Herb and Ida (Wilson) Michel. He passed away peacefully in his home in Othello June 26.

After graduating from high school in Spokane, Everett moved to Seattle to work for Boeing for a short period of time. He returned to Othello to work on the family farm where he resided for the rest of his life.

Everett was active in the community of Othello, participating in the Masons and Past Masters as well as helping start the local rodeo. He was an avid fisherman and also loved to travel, spending many of the last 12 years RVing around the state and as far as Arizona with his wife and friends. Everett loved to watch a good ball game, especially if the Boston Red Sox were playing.

Everett was preceded in death by his parents Herb and Ida and his siblings Clayton, Bernice, Delores and Cliff. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Jeanne of Othello; his son Randy and wife Bonnie, Othello; his daughter Linda Lovins and husband Curt of the Seattle area, his grandchildren Steven and wife Nikki, Othello, Kathy Garcia and husband Charles, Othello, Gwynne Schroeder and husband Rick of the Seattle area, Stephanie Szot and husband Keith of the Seattle area, stepchildren, Scott Branson and wife Lynn of Waitsburg, Kevin Branson and wife Becky of Anchorage, Alaska, Laurie Branson and husband Kris Cook of Ellensburg, Les Branson and wife Ilona of Anchorage, Alaska and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Many will miss Everett's youthful spirit and sense of humor.

Memorial contributions suggested to be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Othello.

A time for visitation has been set-aside at Stevens Funeral Chapel on Sunday, July 2 beginning at 4 p.m. and concluding at 7 p.m. Services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Othello, Monday, July 3 at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at the Bess Hampton Memorial Gardens in Othello.

Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Chapel, Othello.
