NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
DOWNTOWN RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT- 2006

Sealed bids will be received at City Hall, 321 South Balsam, (P.O. Box 1579), Moses Lake, Washington 98837 until July 6, 2006 at 2:00 p.m., for the above-named improvement. Said bids will be opened and publicly read at that time. All bids shall be received before said opening time in sealed envelopes with "DOWNTOWN RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT- 2006" marked plainly thereon.
All bids shall be accompanied by a deposit in the form of a postal money order, cashier's check, or surety bond in an amount equal to 5 percent of the bid. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into a contract and/or to furnish a satisfactory contract bond within the time stated in the specifications, the deposit shall be forfeited to the City.
Copies of plans and specifications are on file at various construction councils and at City Hall and may be obtained for a non-refundable fee of $40 for half size plans and $80 for full size plans at the above address. Only bids from those who have purchased plans and specifications will be accepted per the special provisions.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project consists of reconstructing Third Avenue from the alley at the mid block between Beech Street and Ash Street through the intersection of Division Street. The project work includes removal and salvage of 1,500 square yards of existing pavers, removal of hydrants, water meters, decorative lights, trees and tree wells, curb, asphalt, storm manholes, catch basins, and traffic signals. The project also includes installation of new water main, hydrants, water services, tree wells, landscaping, irrigation system, 500 square yards of stamped and colored concrete, 1,750 lineal feet of curb and gutter, 3,500 square yards of concrete paver sidewalks, landscaping, drywells, catch basins, and 700 tons of HMA road surfaces. This project also includes construction of a concrete stage facility and decorative fountain, which includes setting 159 pieces of columnar basalt totaling 1040 lineal feet in concrete foundations.
Estimated Project Cost: $1,250,000.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids if such action is in the best interest of the City.
