Pirates in need of host families

| June 7, 2006 9:00 PM

The Pirates have their sights set on being a successful baseball club this summer, but to do that the team needs a place to stay. The organization is looking for 10 more host families to take in a baseball player for the summer to ensure they have a chance to play.

According to head coach Gabe Boruff, host families will need to supply the player they host with a room to stay in and food. Most players will have transportation when they arrive, but players who do not will be paired up with ones that do so getting the players to games and practices will not be the responsibility of the host families.

Host families will receive free season tickets and "have an opportunity to be around the ball club," said Boruff.

According to Boruff, becoming a host family is great for parents with younger children to have an experience with baseball and the biggest reward for hosting a player for the summer is building a new relationship.
