Herlinda Trevino

Herlinda Trevino, 93, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2006 at her home. Holy Rosary will be prayed at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Father Alejandro Trejo celebrant. Interment will follow at Ephrata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the Rosary. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel and Crematory, Moses Lake.

Herlinda was born January 15, 1913 in Mexico, daughter of the late Vicente and Maria (Alonzo) Trevino. At an early age she moved with her family to Texas, settling in the D'Hanis area near San Antonio. The family later moved to Crystal City, Texas. Herlinda later moved to Woodland, California and in 1967 she moved to Moses Lake, where she had lived since. She worked at what is now J. R. Simplot Potato Processing Plant for many years, retiring in the early 1980s.

She loved to sew, read her Bible every day and pray for all she knew.

She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.

She is survived by her loving family of; one sister, Guadalupe T. Hernandez, Crystal City, Texas; several nieces and nephews, Lilia Torres of Wenatchee, Tomasa E. and Erasmo Alvarado, Blanca Jimenez, Sylvia and Charlie Zamora, Elza Benavidez, Chris Jimenez, Jr., Ernesto Jimenez, Corina and Daniel Pichardo, Jessie Jimenez, and Pearl Castro, all of Moses Lake, Delia E. and Eliseo Talamantes, Texas, Mario and Carmen Varela, Calif.; numerous great nieces and nephews, including, Yvette Rangel, Annette Hippolyte and Lee Ryan Alvarado, all of Moses Lake.

Herlinda was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters, including Maria T. Jimenez, a niece, Nereida Alvarez and great niece, Alma Talamantes.
