Laurie Marlene Cleverly

Laurie Marlene Cleverly, 55, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away Monday, July 24 at her home from complications of Multiple Sclerosis. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 29 at Pioneer Memorial Gardens with Bishop Reid Baker presiding. Family and friends are asked to please meet at the cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel and Crematory, Moses Lake.

Laurie was born April 11, 1951 in Nyssa, Ore., daughter of the late Lawrence T. and Afton (Bair) Cleverly. Shortly afterward, the family moved to Fruitland, Idaho where she spent her early childhood years. In 1962 they moved to Moses Lake where she continued her education, graduating from Moses Lake High School in 1969. She then attended Ricks College where she studied floral arranging. She would later work at a flower shop in Warden. She moved to the Boise, Idaho area to live for many years where she enjoyed working at a jewelry store.

She later lived in Poulsbo for a short time before returning to Moses Lake in the late 1990's. Due to her declining health she has had to remain at home for the past several years where she was cared for by her sisters.

She had loved horses throughout her life, enjoyed her flowers, movies and was an avid reader.

She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently a member of the Sixth Ward in Moses Lake.

She is survived by her two sons, Jared Lemmon and Jordan Lemmon, both of Poulsbo; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Jerilyn and Jay O. Platt, Moses Lake; Deone and W. Arvin Kofoed, Moses Lake; Renee and Gerald H. Rodeback, Moses Lake and Suzette and Kirk Payne, Poulsbo; three grandchildren and numerous aunts and uncles.

Aside from her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Bruce Cleverly.
