Vicki Lynn Matsumura
Vicki Lynn Matsumura, 50, died June 9 in Tallahassee, Fla. where she had been a resident for the past 25 years. A service was held June 15 in Tallahassee with friends, coworkers, and church members. Another memorial service is planned for July 22 at 1p.m. at Central United Protestant Church, 1124 Stevens Drive, Richland.
Vicki was born in Moses Lake, the second daughter of George and Minako Matsumura of Basin City. She is also survived by siblings Carol Ford and husband Spike of St. Helens, Ore.; Tina Matsumura of Yakima; Mary Marrs and husband Brian of Grants Pass, Ore.; Wendy Matsumura of Aloha, Ore.; James Matsumura and wife Heidi of Cashmere; and niece and nephews Erin and Sean Marrs, Neil and Ryan Ford, and Brian and Keith Matsumura.
She was a highly respected and valued employee of the Florida State Department of Transportation where she was a planning policy analyst. Vicki was a devoted member of the Tallahassee Church of Christ where she enjoyed serving her community and sharing fellowship with others.
Vicki graduated valedictorian in 1975 at Connell High School in Connell. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in urban planning from Eastern Washington University and a Masters degree in regional planning from the University of Illinois.
