Vigil held at WSU for Ephrata soldier

PULLMAN — Washington State University veterans will hold a candlelight vigil on campus for 1st Lt. Jaime Campbell who died while serving in Iraq Jan. 7.

Participants will meet at the CUB at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2 to pick up candles, and will leave the CUB at 4 p.m. and walk to the Veterans Memorial. Elsie Chiles, Col. James Zuba and Sgt. Heather Fuller will speak at the service. Everyone is welcome to take part.

The 25-year-old soldier was one of two pilots of a UH-60 Black Hawk that went down near Tal Afar, a northern Iraqi city. Campbell graduated from WSU with a degree in apparel, merchandising and textiles in December 2002. She was a member of the WSU Army ROTC program.
