Jay Frederick Schwab
On Jan. 21, Jay went to be with Jesus after a wonderful day spent cross-country skiing with his children and granddaughter. Jay was born on Oct. 12, 1949 in Ephrata to Fritz and Carol Schwab. He was raised on the family farm north of Wilson Creek.
After graduating from Wilson Creek High School he attended WSU and YVC. Jay married Vicki Hotchkiss on Oct. 3, 1970 in Ephrata. He worked several jobs before returning to the family farm in 1978 with his family. Together, he and Vicki raised their family and operated their farm and their store, VJ's in Grand Coulee.
Jay's favorite things were his family, friends and a spectacular life on the farm and especially his grandchildren Isamu and Angelina. He enjoyed goose hunting with his best friends, Mark Stroh, George Bagwell, Gary Zickler, Weldon Moore and his sons. Jay was very involved with the Wilson Creek School FBLA and FFA programs and was very committed to supporting education for all children.
