Fire displaces family of seven

MOSES LAKE — A structure fire in the Cascade Valley caused damage to a two-story apartment building and displaced a seven-member family Saturday.

According to the Grant County Fire Marshall's office, Grant County Fire District No. 5 firefighters responded to the two-story apartment building on the 7900 block of Valley Road. The fire marshal's office responded at approximately 1 p.m. and said fire damage to the downstairs later climbed to the upstairs portion of the building.

The fire marshal's office said Red Cross assistance was being provided to the family whose home was damaged in the incident.

Officials could not yet say Monday morning what caused the fire.
