C. Gordon Darlington
C. Gordon Darlington, 77, Moses Lake resident, formerly of Fullerton, Calif. passed away Friday from a brief illness at Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake.
Gordon was born January 2, 1929 to Clyde H and May (Appleby) Darlington in Lander, Wyo. He was raised in Lander and later moved to Whittier, Calif. where he graduated from Whittier Union High School, Fullerton Junior College and U.S.C. He married Sharyl Ann Grady, Dec. 17, 1950 in Yuma, Ariz.
Gordon was a member of the Moses Lake Moose Lodge in the 1960s; a 30-year member of the Elks Lodge, Fullerton, Calif.; and active member of the Good Sam Camping Club, the South Bay Outhousers. He was retired from the Fullerton branch of Hughes Aircraft.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sharyl; daughter Candace DeRose of Grand Junction, Colo. from a previous marriage; son Mathew Darlington (wife Linda); daughter Shelly Peterson and son Mark Darlington (wife Regina) all of Moses Lake. Grandchildren: Jennifer DeRose, Lakewood, Colo.; Christina Spor of Grand Junction, Colo.; Kristi Cejka and Stacie Darlington both of Moses Lake; Katie Perry of Fullerton, Calif.; Cory Randle of Travis A.F.B. and Tom Peterson, Riverside, Calif. Neil Darlington of Calfornia and Trevor Darlington also of Moses Lake and 11 great-grandchildren. Also of Moses Lake, his sister in law Betty Lemke; nephews Josh Lemke and Dennis Wendell. Nephew John Lemke and niece Sabrina Beauchamp of California. One uncle, Jack Appleby, and one aunt, Betty Hudspeth, and many nieces and nephews of Lander and Jim and Shaun Sconyers of Moses Lake.
He was preceded in death by his mother May Appleby Darlington Miller Wenger, longtime resident of Moses Lake, his father Clyde H. Darlington of Cucamonga, Calif. and son in law Nord Peterson of Riverside, Calif.
Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory. Private family services will be held on Monday, Jan. 23.
