Erla Jean Avery
Erla Jeanne Avery (DeHart),58, of Moses Lake passed away Jan. 17, 2006 after a five-year battle with breast cancer. She was born on Dec. 17, 1947 in Anchorage, Alaska to Doris and Earl DeHart.
Erla was a licensed beautician when she met and married Arthur F. Avery in Sunnyside 25 years ago. They traveled throughout the states, as Art is a truck driver and was long hauling then and Jean would go on the road with him as often as she could. They made their way back to Moses Lake seven years ago to make their final home together and enjoy their grandchildren, gardening and various other hobbies they both enjoyed.
Erla was a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. She will also be missed by her dear friends Cheryl Patrick and Debbie Mellick. She was also deeply loved by her former mother-in-law and very close friend; Patricia Pearson, who has also been fighting this horrible disease. Grandma, know she is in your corner and loved you so very much. Much love to all of the Pearson clan.
Her new found hobby, in which she very much enjoyed, was speaking her mind in political chatrooms online. Over the past five years she met some wonderful people whom she loved very much. Last June these Internet friends held a party in Hollywood, in her honor: THE OUTSPOKEN2000 TOUR, (as that was her chat room name). She had also taken up arts and crafts and was very artistic. She painted beautiful pictures and she is an inspiration to all that know her.
She is survived by her mother, Doris Weitz of Las Cruces, New Mexico; her father, Earl DeHart of Port Angeles; her loving husband of 25 years, Arthur F. Avery of Moses Lake; two younger brothers, Eldon DeHart of Florida and George DeHart of Alaska; three children, Jona R. Zeigler (Pearson) of Moses Lake, Patrick E. Pearson of Moses Lake and Brian E. Avery of Moses Lake; and her two grandchildren, whom were her pride and joy, Shannon Mikeal Hubbard, 17, and Brianna Jeanne Avery, 2, both of Moses Lake.
There will not be any services held as she did not want to be mourned, she wanted her family and friends to celebrate and remember her beautiful life and to fulfill the hopes and dreams that she had for us all.
Donations can be contributed to the American Cancer Society to help find a cure for this deadly and, unpredicting disease, that has taken this beautiful woman from our lives much to soon.
We will miss you, but we will see you again someday …
Until then … We love you …
