Shirley A. Wilson 1974-2006
On January 4, the Lord God took one of his special angels to be with him forever. He graciously took Shirley Anne Wilson, the special needs child of John and Lynda Wilson of Moses Lake, to heaven to be with him so that she might touch others like those here on earth that she touched during her life here on earth.
Shirley was born the youngest daughter of John and Lynda Wilson in Othello on July 19, 1974 and passed away at Samaritan Hospital on Jan. 4.
In her short life she touched the hearts of many people and will be remembered for her loving smile to all who saw and talked with her, even after a battle of being unable to speak she would win over the hearts of those around her.
When Shirley was born she contracted meningitis that left her unable to function and was permanently confined to a wheelchair for her life and needed special and loving care. She attended special needs schools in Moses Lake.
Shirley leaves behind her loving family, her father and mother, John and Lynda Wilson of Moses Lake; one sister, Dawnita Schmidt and her three nephews Jonathan Wilson, Christian Schmidt and RJ Mejia III of Moses Lake; one brother, Jeremy Wilson of Las Vegas, Nev. and nephew Forrest Scott Wilson and niece Tonya Wilson of W. Va.; two special uncles and aunts, Carl and Teresa Brown of Moses Lake and Val and Wendy Lyons of Othello; aunts: Devra Moore of Fla.; Susan Brown of Chelalis; Laura (Jay) Warwick of Prosser; Tina Helman of Moses Lake; Bobbie Curtis of Othello; Virginia Chewing of Montana; Mary Newberry of California; and Phyllis Skopp of Florida with her numerous cousins whose hearts she touched; and her grandmother Mary Wilson of Moses Lake.
She was preceded in death by and joins her grandmother and grandfathers: Shirley and Clair Brown and Forrest Wilson to rejoice with them in heaven.
She leaves behind many special friends and neighbors, especially her community access friend Gayla Moog and a special friend Ronna Johnson.
Special thanks to Dr. Thorn whose heart she most recently touched and the nursing staff at Samaritan Hospital.
A memorial service may be planned for a later date.
Arrangements are in care of Benson Family Funeral Services, Mortuary, Cemetery and Crematory, Moses Lake.
