Andrew J. Lambert

Pastor Andrew J. Lambert, 78, died on Jan. 25, 2006 in Seattle.

He was born Dec. 26, 1927 in McLean, Ill. to Charles and Chloebelle Lambert.

On June 4, 1949, Andrew married Phyllis McClelland in Mt. Vernon, where he served as pastor of the Mt. Vernon Free Methodist Church. Together they cared for more than 40 foster children. He was pastor for more than 30 years for the Free Methodist Church of North America serving in six different churches in Moses Lake, Port Angeles, Mt. Vernon, Anacortes, Buckley and McKinley Park in Tacoma. He retired in 1990.

He served as pastor for the Buckley Free Methodist church from 1980-87; served on the Buckley City Counsel and the Rainier State School residents' rights committee. He is preceded in death by his son Lonnie Loren Lambert.

Mr. Lambert is survived by his wife Phyllis and foster son Joseph Kim of the home, sons Nathan Lambert of Puyallup, Larry (Mary) Lambert of Mt. Vernon, daughter Linda (Paul) Ronco of Puyallup; brother Earl Lambert of South Carolina; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Mission Program of your local church. A memorial service will be held Sat., Feb. 11, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Hillcrest Community Fellowship, 1830 South 13th Street, Mt. Vernon.
