Donald M. High
Donald M. High passed away peacefully on Dec. 18, 2006. He was born to Benjamin High and Clementine Pyatt High on March 17, 1916, in Green City, Mo. Don was married to Lorraine M. Durnen on Oct. 10, 1938. She passed away in October 2003 after 65 years of marriage. Don served in the Marines in the Aleutian Islands during World War II. They had lived in Moses Lake since 1953 and had many friends in the area. Don worked for the Teamsters Union for 27 years and retired in 1973. He then worked out of his home for 19 years as a Washington state licensed hypnotherapist. He was a member of the VFW, the Masons, and the Elks. For many years, he met with a group of "coffee friends" every morning.
Don is survived by nieces, Sheila Mattingly of Bothell; Gail Rassat, Lorraine Bagwell, and Billie Kaye Ulrickson, all of Seattle; Michael Durnen of Spokane, and Wayne Durnen of Phoenix, Ariz.; numerous great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews; and lots of close friends in the Moses Lake area. Don loved his family and friends and was always there to lend a hand.
At his request, there will be no services. Memorials may be made to the Moses Lake Community Center Food Bank. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory, Moses Lake.
