John (Jack) Paul Thorne

John (Jack) Paul Thorne passed away at his home in Lind, Tuesday, Dec. 12. He was born Nov. 12, 1933, in Morton to Morton and Florence (Messling) Thorne. He graduated from Potlatch High School in 1951.
He served in the military and was stationed in Colorado. After serving his country, he worked at the lumber mill in Potlatch.
He married Judith Kelley on Aug. 26, 1960 in Moscow, Idaho.
Jack was a lumber yard manager in Hairrington from 1965 to 1974; a mechanic and farm laborer in Odessa from 1974 to 1980; and a mechanic and farm laborer for Bill Loomis from 1980 to 1991 when he was hurt from a work related accident.
He enjoyed camping, watching his grandchildren show animals at local fairs, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Jack is survived by his wife Judy Thorne; sons: Michael Thorne of Lind; Mark Thorne of Lind and his fiance Brynn Potts of Rizville; daughters: Pam Suchland and her husband Ted of Odessa; Carole Mote and her husband Robert of Spokane; Barb Keith and her husband Dick of Moses Lake; Tammy Doyle and her husband Michael of Lind; Jacque Laird of Lind and friend Wes Johnson of Kennewick; Stacy Smith of Soap Lake; grandchildren: Amanda Suchland, Miranda Thorne, Tyran Doyle, Derrick Laird, Micheala Doyle, Steven Keith, Bryden Laird and Mariah Thorne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Morton and Florence Thorne; and brother Vernon Thorne.
The funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at the Lind Calvary Assembly of God in Lind. Pastor Schofstoll will officiate.
