Most schools in session
GRANT COUNTY — School was canceled in Quincy today because of a lack of electricity in the city, while other cities including Moses Lake, Ephrata, Warden and Othello started school on time.
The Moses Lake School District maintenance crew cleaned up fallen tree limbs on today after strong winds hit Grant County Thursday night.
Internet and phone systems were down throughout the district early in the morning but are now back up, said Maintenance Department Secretary Andrea Hoff.
On Thursday, maintenance received several roof leak calls due to heavy rain from schools including Moses Lake High School, Longview Elementary School and Chief Moses Middle School.
In the Ephrata School District, the technology department reset equipment such as clocks and school bells at some schools, said Technology System Manager Jo Maedke.
