Alvin Harold Conrad, Jr. was born Nov. 3, 1956, in Jackson, Mich., to Alvin H. Conrad, Sr. and Shirley A. VanEpps Conrad. He was raised and educated in Minnesota and later moved to Washington where he met and married his first wife and started a family. He joined the United States Army and served his country in Germany. While in Germany his son was born. After returning home, he started his lifelong career of driving trucks. Although it was rough being away from his home and family, he always had his friends at Systems Trucking in Spokane. He will always be remembered by his coworkers as fun-loving and jovial. His pet and constant companion became a member of the Systems family. Alvin loved being on the road about as much as his precious dog Jackie loved riding with him.

Another thing close to Alvin's heart was his love for everything outdoors. He would take his family nearly every summer on camping trips. Some of the fondest memories his children have are the many fishing trips he would take them on.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn Conrad of Moses Lake; his three children, Melissa Duncan of Moses Lake, John Conrad of Othello and Heather Conrad of Moses Lake; his mother and stepfather, Shirley and Kermit Knudsvig of Belgrade, Minn.; four sisters, Nancy of Melrose, Minn., Vicky of Lake Henry, Minn., Lora of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Val of Belgrade, Minn.; brothers, Arza Conrad of Wichita, Kan., Ron Knudsvig of Foley, Minn.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Conrad, Sr.; grandparents, Gladys and Richard VanEpps and Ruben and Jossie Knudsvig; an uncle, Vernon Knudsvig; and an aunt, Sally Olsen.

Alvin was greatly loved and admired for his commitment to his career and will be fondly remembered by his children, family and friends.
