Moses Lake school district sets trimester meeting
MOSES LAKE - A Moses Lake High School parent forum about switching to trimesters is set for Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. in the high school theater.
High School Principal Dave Balcom said the high school is delaying its transition from a semester system to a trimester system. The earliest the new system would take effect is the 2008-2009 school year, Balcom said. Originally the school planned to pursue the change for the 2007-2008 school year.
"Per school board request, the high school has decided to delay the transition to the trimester system," he said.
A list of frequently asked questions is being mailed to parents Friday as part of an invitation to the forum.
Special Assistant to the Superintendent P.J. De Benedetti said the issue is tentatively set to come before the district school board on Feb. 22. De Benedetti was unsure whether the school board would be given a recommendation or if it would be given a presentation on the subject.
