Sabina O. Kautz
Sabina O. Kautz, a longtime resident of Moses Lake passed away Tuesday, Nov. 28 at the Wenatchee Valley Hospital.
Sabina was born in Scottsbluff, Neb. on Nov. 11, 1928, to Henry Frederick and Zoe (Hogan) Westphalen.
She is survived by her two sons, James Kautz, his wife Kelly, their four children, Kristen, Shanna, Cora and James Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Stuart Kautz of Moses Lake, two brothers Budd Westphalen, his wife Louise from Moses Lake, their four children, Linda Kuest, her husband Mike, their two children Michael and Nicholas of Odessa, David, his wife Joette, their three children Frank, Rachael and Brian of Moses Lake, Debra Westphalen and Jeff Thompson of Moses Lake and Diana and James Lange and their two children, Cassandra and Jessica of Riverside, Wash.
Donald Westphalen, his wife Carol, their three children, Jeffery, Crystal and Timothy of Scottsbluff, Neb., Aunt Teddy Copenhaver and her children also of Scottsbluff, Neb., two great-nephews and also her longtime companion Hugh Christi of Moses Lake and his family and Hugh's sister Frieda Cleveland of Osborn, Idaho, and many cousins and friends. She will truly be missed by all of us.
Sabina graduated from Scottsbluff High School in Scottsbluff, Neb. She attended the cosmetology school there and obtained her instructor's licence.
She moved to Moses Lake in 1975 to be near her brother Budd, she owned and later sold the cosmetology school, but continued to instruct at several cosmetology schools in this area.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Ardell Launer and a son Thomas Kautz.
Memorial services for Sabina Kautz will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist School in Moses Lake on Valley Road.
