Home invasion frightens 12-year-old girl
Home targeted by trio of thieves
CASCADE VALLEY — A 12 year-old girl was left frightened after two men invaded her home with a pistol and stole items belonging to her parents.
Grant County sheriff's deputies responded to the robbery on Rainier Road Tuesday, according to chief criminal deputy John Turley. He said they are looking for two Hispanic men, one heavy set and the other very skinny, who left in a white car, either a Dodge Neon or Plymouth Breeze, with a black stripe driven by a blond white woman.
The two men broke through the front door of the home while the girl was inside, but did not injure her. Turley says the duo took two television sets, DVD player, money and CD case with more than 300 CDs. The girl told deputies they rifled through drawers and left through the back door plowing through a wooden fence.
Turley said there have been a couple of home invasions recently, but the invaders and victims were connected by gang affiliation, drug transactions or retaliation.
"We believe this one was planned," said Turley. "They picked the right time to do it. There was only a 12-year-old girl at home … This was not random."
The sheriff's office is asking anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area of Stanley, Lee and Rainier roads on Tuesday between 3 and 4 p.m. to call them at 754-2011, extension 468.
