Ruth Osborne, 76, Moses Lake resident, passed away Thursday, Aug. 17 in Davenport. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23 at Pioneer Memorial Gardens with Pastor Deverett Butrick of the Evangelical Methodist Church officiating. Viewing will be held at Kayser's Chapel on Monday, Aug. 21 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Tuesday, Aug. 22 from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel and Crematory, Moses Lake.

Ruth was born to Martin and Reba Lindic in Almira on Jan. 24, 1930. She lived in Almira before graduating in 1949 from Medical Lake High School. She married Warren E. Osborne on Jan. 10, 1953. They lived in a cabin in Soap Lake while building a home on their farm in Block 40. They formed the T. J. Cattle Company on 7,000 acres in 1969. They worked on the farm together for 42 years. After Warren's death in 1995, Ruth moved to Moses Lake.

Ruth enjoyed canning, gardening and cooking for the hired help at the farm. She supported community activities and events in the town on Wilson Creek.

In 1997, Ruth established the Warren and Ruth Osborne Scholarship Fund with Big Bend Community College Foundation. Meeting and getting to know her scholarship recipients was one of Ruth's great joys in life because she was unable to have children and because she and Warren did not have opportunities for a college education. Ruth was a member of the Evangelical Methodist Church in Moses Lake.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Reba Lindic, and her husband, Warren. Survivors include her sister, Frances Steel; two nieces, Carolyn Hill Thornton, Colorado and Coleen Lindberg, Spokane; one nephew Craig Steel, Reardan; a great nephew, Ryan Lindberg, Spokane; a great niece, Megan Bolin, Adrian, Mo.

In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial donations be made to the Warren and Ruth Osborne Scholarship Fund with the Big Bend Community College Foundation.
